The 1995 Student Trip to Paris was the first time we ever traveled outside Germany and Austria independently and with students. We stayed in the 7th on rue Cler at the Grand Hotel Leveque, a place recommended by Rick Steves and many of his readers. The hotel is on a pedestrian street and is a wonderful place for student travelers. We could let the kids wander on their own up and down the 3 or 4 blocks of the neighborhood with little fear for their safety. There are vegetable markets, meat and game markets, small cafes, bookstores, and many tiny shops. During this trip, we visited dozens of sites in and near Paris. Click on the links below to see some of the places we saw. The photo to the right shows the entire group on the path leading to Chenonceau. |
