| Our 1998 fall trip got off to a terrible start when--after landing in Brussels-- we discovered that most of Europe was in the midst of a rail strike; luckily it ended after one day, and everything improved from that point forward. We began our trip in Brugge; we had visited the city on a day trip about 13 years before and had always wanted to return. From that point on, all was improvisation. At the start, we only knew that we would go into Amsterdam and make some sort of circular trip returning to Brussels at the end. |
